Created earlier this year by Dentsu Tokyo for the Yokohama City Board of Education, the "Books to build children" ad campaign hopes to recruit librarians to work in elementary school libraries. There’s a reader on the loose in Prague

Books Calling is series of self-portraits from Prague-based photographer Jakub Pavlovsky. His tagline is "Make Time For Reading. Anywhere, Anytime. No matter how much stress you have, it all just slips away when you lose yourself in a great book." Latest study confirms that school libraries positively impact student test scores 

Well what do you know -  another study, this this time from the South Carolina Association of School Librarians, confirms once again that schools with vibrant libraries and librarians make a difference.  A big difference. Test scores and reading levels are higher and the chance of long-term academic success is greatly improved when a school boasts a healthy library. The Antiquarians Join World Book Day

The International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB) has joined this year's World Book & Copyright Day celebration in a big way.  All over the world antiquarian booksellers will be holding pop-up book fairs to offer "a stunning selection of rare books, prints, manuscripts and ephemera to promote the trade of old and rare books and to support the UNESCO literacy projects in Africa."
